Modes and Types

CONSECUTIVE INTERPRETATION
Oral translation of a speaker's words into another language when the speaker has concluded or has paused for interpreting. Normally used in one-on-one appointments, medical visits, and court hearings.
SIMULTANEOUS INTERPRETATION
Oral translation of a speaker's words into another language while the speaker is speaking, usually using special audio equipment.
CONFERENCE INTERPRETATION
Specialized skill requiring one direction, simultaneous interpreting from one language to another.

Technology

When accounting for a high volume of on-site interpretation hours, one simply cannot rely on pen and paper to track each job. The company must be current with the latest technological resources available. In 2006, NWI logged more than 50,000 hours of on-site interpretation. Our comprehensive software tracking system allows us to manage each job with utmost accuracy. Having multiple check points along the way gives further assurance that nothing is lost in the process from scheduling to invoicing.

Our interpreters adhere to the Interpreter Code of Professional Conduct as well as strict confidentiality standards and are given refresher courses on both each year. Having a large healthcare industry clientele, we are also fully compliant with HIPAA rules and regulations.
